EDUCATION SYSTEM REQUIRED TO KEEP UP WITH AND LEAD THE DEVELOPMENT OF INDUSTRY 4.0
EDUCATION SYSTEM REQUIRED TO KEEP UP WITH AND LEAD THE DEVELOPMENT OF INDUSTRY 4.0
In Industry 4.0 systems, all processes such as production, quality, maintenance, efficiency, and inventory can be easily monitored from a central system through sensors and data inputs. Based on the company's defined targets, interventions can be made either automatically or manually. As a result, unnecessary and faulty productions, inefficiencies, and waste are prevented, providing businesses with a competitive advantage. However, individuals analyzing this data must also possess specific competencies. Let’s take a brief look at these requirements:
1-) As Industry 4.0 changes the way work is conducted and increases the demand for more skilled employees, both vocational schools and universities must adapt their teaching methods to this transformation.
2-) Beyond technological knowledge and skills, trained professionals must be prepared for continuous skill development, demonstrate flexibility in interdisciplinary collaborations, and be open to innovations.
3-) At the high school level, activities such as apprenticeships and internships should include training in computer use, the internet, and data processing. To support this, educational institutions, Industry 4.0 system developers, and industry users should collaborate to train future professionals.
4-) In addition to training new employees, existing workers whose manual labor jobs become obsolete should be retrained according to the Industry 4.0 system to ensure a smooth transition into the digital era.
